It's July 2nd already!

Well we did have a good crop of fruit set but the Cedar Waxwings are demolishing all the fruit in the yard including the Blue Honeysuckle. So we got some nets up and it might help some. I would like to see them leave! Robins are bad too.

Here are the nets.

Hopefully we will get more than the 2 liters of poor berries we got last year!

We put a good, braced/anchored corner post and connect them with the heavy duty baler twine ($35 for 4000 feet) In between we put 2x2 by 8 ft hammered in about 2 feet. Same baler twine across the field. Netting over it and supported by 1 x 2 by 8 feet. My wife and I can put up an acre in half a day. And believe me, we have to start early because the Cedar waxwings are already eyeing the berries when they have barely turned colour. James
