Honeysuckle Update

Dewdrop from T&T appears again to not be growing. This time I got a cutting from the shoot tip so hope it will grow.
Also planted Berry Blue and Blue Belle so my 1st test plot is nearly full. Several of my Japanese seedlings just are not coming back so have a couple of replacements for them.

Did not have time to take in the Haskap gathering last week but it looked like a good gathering as I took time to stop and say hello to a couple of people.
There is a lot of interest in production.

New honeysuckle arrived

Got a single plant from T & T Seeds of Dewberry Honeysuckle. It is just a cutting but it has flower buds! Potted up for now and will transplant to the trial plot in about 2 weeks.

All the seedlings and cuttings I have are looking good but I am working on a new piece of test ground which needs to be cut out of a sod area. It will be 40 x 80 ft. Another big project.

News coming here soon

Seems I have been busy. Most of my Japanese seedlings are coming up in the new test planting and I have some plans for the infills where they do not make it. Also some new seedlings coming anyway. Waiting for seeds from Siberia to see if there will be some edible honeysuckles in there as well.

Cinderella and some babies

Bought Cinderella at the Garden Show from D'nA Gardens who are from Alberta. I am trying to pollinate the flowers but I need to do more reading about them! Also have some babies from several sources.

Update

Well the propagation is going well and I am getting a cutting from nearly every seedling. New ones coming as well. Still no seed from other places in the world but hopefully there will be some folks in far places who will collect seed for me and send them. Bought Cinderella from DnA Gardens at the Saskatoon Gardenscape.

New plants from cuttings

Well I have been cutting off my seedlings and dipping the cutting in a rooting gel and then putting them into peat pellets. They seem to be doing ok but time will tell.
